However it was Lightning, who laid a big hit on the scoreboard, skating to a 6-1 victory in Game 1of the six-point series.

Chatham Maroon’s Brett Vandehogen lands on Leamington Flyers' goalie Rob Cupit after colliding with Sean Demuynck (4) during Sunday's game at Memorial arena. It was the first game back in Chatham for Cupit, who was sent to the Flyer's by the Maroons last week.

INSPIRED BY THE KING: Brian Corriveau plays guitar and sings Elvis Presley song "There Will Be Peace in Valley" on King Street West in front of Chatham Downtown Centre Friday. He sings tunes from such artists as Beatles, Rolling Stones and all movie hits. He started playing a guitar in grade 2. His inspiration for playing a guitar came from Presley. He's watched all movies by Presley, some of them up to 17 times, and owns all of The King's albums.

Members of the Chatham Figure Skating Clubs' Maple City Ice Crystals perform their routine in the silver final of the pre-novice division at the Lloyd Ogilvie Memorial synchronized skating competition in Dresden on Saturday. The Ice Crystals placed 10th overall in the preliminary round, which put them in the silver final where they placed second to capture silver medals.
