Tundra swans were spotted on a field on Gosnell Line just east of Victoria Road in Oxford Monday. Tundra swans were once known as Whistling Swans for the sound their wings produce. The Tundra swan is the most widespread and numerous species of swan in North America. They are divided into two distinct groups, the Eastern Population and the Western Population. The EP migrate through southern Ontario as they make their extensive annual journey between their Atlantic Coast wintering areas and Arctic coastline breeding areas.
