Water spouts, such as this one captured Thursday (October12), are common this time of year over Lake Erie according to Eriau businessman Doug Barnier. He said it is not uncommon to see two or three spouts dancing over the warm lake water when a cold air mass passes over the lake. Barnier said the spouts are relatively harmless although he recalls one knocking down a barn east of Rondeau Provincial Park 25 years ago.
